The Opportunity

The mission of the Director of Operations is to support and protect the CEO to achieve the company’s goals and gain more momentum by being empowered to lead, manage, and coach the right people, processes, and projects to grow the company and to deliver WOW results for our clients.

The Director of Operations role demands an individual with exceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal, coaching, and leadership qualities.

They must have already demonstrated success in leading, managing, and growing a small and nimble team in a similar industry to ours. This individual is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Expected Outcomes

Team — Own hiring, coaching, recruiting, and transition plans including headcount budget. Responsible for team engagement, happiness, and for reducing pressure and noise.

Culture — Collaborate with CEO and Leadership Team to practice and refine the company’s purpose, mission, and core values every single day, ensuring it is constantly infused into all company communications and activities.

WOWing Clients — Collaborating with the Director of Strategy, and Associate Directors of Organic Search and Paid Media, and directing Project Managers and Clients Leads, the Director of Operations is ultimately accountable for driving client results, relationships, and happiness.

Operational Health — Help design, oversee, and report on company’s focus, profitability, efforts, and energy to meet our goals while supporting the CEO to turn the company’s vision into reality. This role is all about making it real and making it recur.

You’ll know you are right for this amazing opportunity if you have:

  • At least 5 years experience managing a marketing or operations team with a proven track record of leading them to success.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive maximum performance from your team.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to set and manage data-driven goals across a team. You are a systems thinker and think strategically before you act.
  • Respected and decisive personality with demonstrated ability to support team members with obstacles and efficiently resolve conflicts.
  • Experience with SEO, paid media, web analytics, and marketing automation.

Some competencies you’ll need to have:

Critical Thinking: You are able to synthesize and execute on 80/20 strategies in your role. You think holistically and understand how your actions impact other areas of the organization.

Communication: You are able to communicate complex data in a simple manner and craft a story around it to lead to business insights. You have strong presentation skills and are comfortable speaking in front of small audiences.

Coaching: You actively coach your direct reports to think more critically, be more resourceful, and continuously learn. Your leadership and support encourage maximum performance and happiness. You ask more questions than you give answers while directing your team from a position of confident expertise.

Emotional Intelligence: You command authority naturally and are well liked by your direct reports. You are calm and collected in the majority of situations. You are confident and decisive in your choices.
