The Opportunity

The mission of the Client Lead is to support and protect the CEO to achieve the company’s goals and gain more momentum by becoming a Trusted Advisor to multiple client stakeholders, growing client revenues, and preventing client churn. In every interaction, the Client Lead delivers WOW results for our clients.

The Client Lead role demands an individual with exceptional organizational, communication, interpersonal, coaching, and leadership qualities.

They must have already demonstrated success in growing and protecting existing revenue, having advisor level relationships, and confidently presenting strategic recommendations, and discussing money and scope with clients.

This individual is responsible for all aspects of their client portfolio's results (performance), relationship (measured via NPS) and growth (expansion revenue, and referral generation).

Before you say yes, ask yourself:

  • Do your clients trust you and ask you for advice?
  • Are you proficient at creating and leading strong narratives, presentations, and in-person meetings?
  • Are you a strongly self-motivated and driven individual who is goal-oriented, methodical and tenacious, and can effectively work hand-in-hand on a daily basis with a team of digital marketing specialists?
  • Do you have a strong grasp of digital marketing (especially SEO, Paid Search, & Paid Social) and the ability to interpret high-level strategies for these channels?

You’ll know you are right for this amazing opportunity if you have:

  • At least 5 years of sales, business development, and client services experience.
  • Experience with selling digital marketing solutions and software.
  • Strong ability to craft succinct and enticing emails that get quick responses from your clients.
  • Excellent at speaking to groups to capture their imagination and visualize your concepts.
  • Excellent at making complex strategies digestible and easy to understand.
  • Experience with using consultative selling to uncover problems, roadblocks, and create prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow client revenue and protect existing revenue.
  • Create advisor-level relationships with multiple client stakeholders.
  • Handle client disputes with objectivity and tact. 
  • Close new projects and actively seek more ways to help clients.
  • Schedule all meetings, develop agendas, and debrief afterwards.
  • Maintain active and accurate client data and scope at all times 
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers. 
  • Integrate new clients through proper orientation.
  • Keep client abreast of agency happenings.
  • Keep agency abreast of client happenings.
  • Selling recommendations back to clients.
  • Lead client planning and selling through client strategy.
  • Monitor and consult with accounting regarding billing.

Some competencies you’ll need to have:

  • Digital Marketing Fundamentals: You can explain the basics of SEO, SEM, Paid Social, Marketing Automation, and UX/CRO.
  • Critical Thinking: Your actions are proactive. You are able to visualize success and deliberately work towards the end goal by following high impact strategies.
  • Project Management: You are in control of your time and manage it effectively. Meetings are on-time and prepared. Your deliverables are on-time and require little-to-no rework.
  • Communication: You communicate your thoughts with ease, clarity, and empathy in written and verbal forms. You consistently practice upward reporting.
  • Emotional Intelligence: You are a trusted advisor to your clients and have a positive influence on their happiness and success. You are unshaken and clear-headed in difficult moments.

Results you’ll be expected to drive:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be the main point of contact for the clients in your portfolio and accountable for their retention and growth. 

  • Delight and excite your clients to sustain an average NPS of 50 or higher and extend lifetime value (LTV) to at least 36 months.
  • Grow the Monthly Recurring Revenue ($MRR) value of your clients at least 20% year-over-year through opportunities that meet the needs and desires of their business.
  • Maintain a less than 20% Discovery Opt-out rate.
  • Hold the Project Manager responsible for the delivery and quality of work.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with your client and their team as a 'trusted advisor.' They know you, like you, and trust you.
  • Hold your clients accountable to progress and performance.
